The eye tension, which is the name of glaucoma, is the problem of increasing pressure inside the eye. There are two liquids in the eye. The liquid, which is ahead of them, is discharged out of the tiny channels in the eye. An increase in the pressure in the eye with changes in this excretory system is called eye tension. Eye tension can occur with various types. It usually begins to be seen over the years. There are also instances where eye tension increases. This problem manifests itself in a very severe pain. Those who have eye tension in family elders are at risk for genetic reasons. The rate of eye tension in the community is 2 percent. This disease can be seen in patients with myopia, high hypermetropia, diabetes, high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.
Gradually, the vision appears to be diminished, but the patient cannot be aware of these years. With an insidious eye pressure, vision decreases by gradually closing the environment. Patients do not mention pain or visual problems at first. If there is a loss of vision, an eye tension is formed. Sudden closure of the eye with a sudden pressure on the eye blurred vision and especially a screen around the lights occur. Accompanying severe pain manifests itself. The treatment of this condition is different.
The first step in the treatment of eye tension is the measurement of the eye tension. As the eye tension is measured by spraying the air over the eye, the pressure inside the eye can be determined by a tilting of the eye with an apparatus. If there is no communication between the child, an idea can be obtained with the finger. Visual field testing is an important diagnostic method. As the eye tension decreases the vision from the environment, the visual field in the surrounding area can be measured for about half an hour to determine if there is a disorder. It should also be done to determine the presence of elevations in the eye nerves.
The thickness of the corneal layer is also an important factor because the instruments that measure eye tension are adjusted to a certain thickness. The results of a patient whose cornea is thicker may not be accurate. Therefore, this fine detail is important in the follow-up and correct diagnosis of the disease. Eye tension should be measured once a year. The eye tension, measured over 20 mm, carries suspicion. It is not enough to measure it only once.
